Sirona Community Rehabilitation Units & BrisDoc Winter 2021-2022 Operational Process
Sirona provide inpatient care to patients within the community hospitals:
- Thornbury Hospital: Henderson Ward
- Yate: Skylark unit
- Clevedon Hospital: Elton unit
- SBCH: Rehab units 100 and 200.
Severnside provides OOH medical cover to each of these units. On occasion we may be expected to give clinical advice/ prescribe for patients within these units
Agreements have been put in place to enable our clinicians to:
- Make video or assessments utilising photo or video where appropriate and safe to do so.
- Prescribe remotely (via EPS) to local pharmacies (for Sirona staff to collect medication)
- Authorise Sirona staff to administer medication remotely (using the attached PSD) which can be emailed to the units
Where remote assessments cannot safely resolve the scenario, it may be necessary to arrange a home visit to the units to further assess patients and arrange appropriate clinical management
