Bristol Eye Hospital, and urgent referrals to Ophthalmology

Please check up to date referral guidance on Remedy before referring to Bristol Eye Hospital Emergency Department. This includes a link to clinical guidance about a range of acute eye problems and urgency of referral.

Healthcare Professionals sending patients with eye emergencies to the Bristol Eye Hospital Emergency Department, or seeking urgent/ emergency advice, can call 0117 342 9091. The phone line is available 8.30-4.30pm, 7 days a week.

If the line is engaged, you are unable to get through or the Eye Hospital ED is closed, please contact the on-call Ophthalmology team via BRI switchboard (0117 9370000).

BEH ED is open 8.30am-4.30pm, seven days a week (including bank holidays).
