Shortage of GLP-1 Receptor agonists (Semaglutide, Dulaglutide, Liraglutide, Exenatide)

There are very limited, intermittent supplies of all glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists.  The supply issues have been caused by an increase in demand for these products for licensed and off-label indications such as obesity.  We are likely to get calls from patients unable to get hold of these medications.

Please assess each case on an individual basis and manage acutely in the out-of-hours period, referring back to their GP surgery for ongoing management. More detailed information can be found here - National Patient safety alert
