The BNSSG Sepsis (in adults) Guideline was updated in May/June 2025. In particular the change highlights that pre-hospital antibiotics should be considered in the community. It states that antibiotics should ‘only be given if the patient is at high risk of sepsis or sepsis is the most likely diagnosis’, and it ‘should not delay transfer to hospital’.
