Our Role

Our role is to support the Clinical Guardian audit process and wider clinical governance activities within SevernSide IUCS (Integrated Urgent Care Service).

We audit a minimum of 4% of clinicians’ notes , which creates an opportunity to give positive feedback and also to identify cases where there may be learning opportunities.  Feedback is given through the Clinical Guardian software. We would encourage you to respond to the feedback with your thoughts.

We are all IUC clinicians and are very approachable. We hope to meet you on a shift soon. If you would like us to review and feedback on a tricky case you have been involved in, please email us at bnssg.brisdoc.guardian@nhs.net . We would also welcome you to one of our meetings and to do some auditing yourself.  Please email us to arrange this.

We have recently created a new Clinical Toolkit page on Clinical Documentation in SevernSide IUC which you can access here. We hope this will be useful in helping to answer the question 'what does good (enough) documentation look like'?

Our other roles include:

  1. BrisDoc Clinical Toolkit – We contribute to the maintenance and development of the Clinical Toolkit, producing relevant content to support clinicians on shift.
  2. Clinician Inductions – We are involved in welcoming new Clinicians at induction sessions and aim to provide pro-active support during the first few months of work.
  3. Teaching and Training – We will be involved in teaching and training of other health professionals who may be attached to the IUC service, including organising regular IUC Clinical Forums.
  4. Clinical Governance Projects – We may be involved in other projects

Please do contact us if you have any case or general queries on bnssg.brisdoc.guardian@nhs.net. We look forward to seeing you on shift.
