End of Life/ Palliative Care: St Peter’s Hospice Clinical Guidelines and Resources for Healthcare Professionals

Updated on 11th February 2026

Please visit St Peter’s Hospice Clinical Guidelines and Resources for Healthcare Professionals for information about:

  • Local Clinical Guidelines for Palliative Care, including
    • Guidelines on the management of pain due to cancer in adults
    • The Palliative Care handbook
    • Community Palliative Care Prescribing Table
    • Pharmacies providing enhanced service for availability of specialist medicines
  • Local services for end of life care
  • ReSPECT Plus form
  • Advance Care Planning

End of life medicines should be sourced from community pharmacies via EPS wherever possible. Pharmacies providing Enhanced Service for the Availability of Specialist Medicines  can be found here which includes a range of common medications for palliative care.

If EPS to a community pharmacy is not practical or available, stocks of end of life medications are held at Marksbury Road and 168 Medical, for patients requiring immediate symptom relief.

End of life night sitters

Night sitters may be available via District Nurse assessment (who contact Marie Curie) or via St Peter's Hospice.
