General admission information

Admission is generally considered if:

Haemodynamic instability, P>150, SBP<90 (these patients are generally not suitable for AEC)

Loss of consciousness, severe dizziness, ongoing chest pain, or increasing breathlessness (remember that conditions such as sepsis/CAP/PE/ACS can precipitate AF).

New AF with onset <48h and suitable candidate for cardioversion
