Basic life support algorithms

Copies of the 2021 algorithms are provided with the resuscitation equipment in the visiting cars and at each Treatment Centre.

Please note that there is an emergency drug box available, and the contents are listed here.

In the event of a cardiac arrest at the Treatment Centre or when visiting, please manage as per algorithms. Remember to prioritise your own safety, seek help from the team and call 999 early. The operational time have annual BLS training and will be able to support you, including obtain the resuscitation equipment and emergency drug box.

At an early opportunity, please ensure that the shift manager is alerted to the arrest. Please also ensure that a learning event is logged to ensure that the leadership team are aware of events and can follow up, including support and debrief for all colleagues who have been involved.
