Suspected Tuberculosis (TB)

Updated on 2nd March 2023

Patient.co.uk and the Clinical Knowledge Summaries provide useful information about the risk factors, presentation, differentials, investigations and management of active tuberculosis, as well as contact screening.

Highest risk groups are migrants from high incidence countries (including elderly patients who have lived here for a long time), and people who are homeless, drug or alcohol dependent, or immunosuppressed/ immunocompromised. Please note that TB is a notifiable disease.

Remedy provides information about local management, referral guidance and screening for TB in Primary Care.
